Terms
Last updated 12 October 2026.
d-scribe is a free desktop app made by one person, NickMarcha. By installing it, or by signing in to the d-scribe app on Discord, you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.
Using d-scribe
You can use d-scribe for free for personal and other noncommercial purposes. The code is available under the PolyForm Noncommercial license, which says what you may do with it. For commercial use, get in touch first.
Recording other people
You choose what to record, so you're responsible for it. Let the people in the call know that you record, follow the rules where you and they live, and don't use d-scribe to record anyone in secret or to harass them. You also need to follow Discord's terms and the rules of the servers you record in.
Tester access
Discord only lets a limited number of people use the d-scribe app, so access is given by hand. It can be declined or removed at any time, for example to make room for others or if these terms are broken. You can always use your own Discord app instead.
No guarantees
d-scribe is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Transcripts and AI summaries can be wrong, and recordings can fail or be lost, so check what matters and keep copies of recordings you need. As far as the law allows, the author isn't liable for any damage or loss from using d-scribe.
Other services
d-scribe works with Discord, downloads from GitHub and Hugging Face, and can send data to a transcription service or AI tool if you set one up. Their own terms apply to them. See the privacy page for what goes where.
Changes
These terms may change as d-scribe changes. The date at the top shows the last update. Questions go to GitHub issues.
